Last Wednesday the P&C, School Department of Education and Preschool met with representative the Sydney Motorways Corporation (SMC) and CPB Contractors Dragados Samsung Joint Venture. The purpose of the meeting was to brief us on the project progress, design updates and some preliminary information on the project staging. We also learnt about the projects in progress right now so as to provide our input into timing of works that affect the school. The minutes of the meeting were taken and will be made available on a noticeboard that the school will establish close to the school entrance. Important aspects communicated in the meeting were a reassurance that access will be provided to the school due to a process of project staging. This means that the new Campbell Street will be built in different stages allowing the use of the route to be maintained. The work on the entrances to Church and St Peters Street will also be accomplished in stages so that there will always be access. While this remain encouraging, the concerns of the community as a series of questions surveyed were placed to the representatives. The results of the survey will also be placed on the noticeboard. IN response to concerns about work adjacent to the Silver Street and across Florence Street's entrance into Silver Street, the consortia are putting in measures to limit disruption to normal access to the school. An email with this update will be communicated shortly.
