Last Friday we were fortunate to have our P&C president Mrs Kate Hafey give the kids a talk on our new community friends the native bees. Their hive was previously at Marrickville West and as it became big enough, it was split and we have been fortunate enough to have one half located at the school. These bees are sting less meaning they are no threat. The bees have been located near the new kitchen garden which you may have seen taking shape next to the car park. Stage 1 will be working on a bed as part of their stage groups and each class will be given a bed to develop over the coming months. This will be a part of our sustainable education program at St Peters.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent teacher interviews will be held at the end of this term in week 10 on Tuesday 4 April. Tomorrow a letter will be going home to all new families with the parent key and details of how to access the parent portal. This will allow you to book parent teacher interviews. Parent teacher interviews slots will be open tomorrow afternoon.
The time slots will be 10 minutes long and they will bookable in 15 minute blocks via the online parent portal. Slots will be available from 2pm in the afternoon to 6:30pm in the evening. Thus the last slot will be at 6:15pm and the school will close at 6:30pm. These interviews will allow you to discuss progress in your child's learning through term 1 and half way towards the end of semester report with your child's classroom teacher. It is important to stress that you may make an appointment to see your child's teacher at any time you feel the need to discuss something that concerns you.
On Tuesday at 7pm parents are invited to the P&C Annual General Meeting and General Meeting held straight afterwards. The P&C is very important for the school and you are strongly encouraged to come out and attend the meeting to see what you can do. A flier attached to this newsletter details the meeting
