Ride with Harmony

National Ride2School Day

This Friday is the National Ride2School Day. The SRC has registered and has asked that all students consider riding to school on their bike or on a scooter. Bikes may be securely stored in the schools bike rack on the south west wing of the admin building and scooters from Wednesday may be locked at the new scooter rack which will be located at the entrance to the school. The senior SRC will be giving stickers to all students who ride.

Harmony Day

A week on Tuesday - 21 March is Harmony day in Australia. This is a day where Australia celebrates its our countries cultural diversity. The SRC will be hosting a Mufti Day on this day and requests that you all wear as much orange clothing as you can on this day and suggest that you wear something that celebrates your culture. A gold coin donation is requested with all the proceeds going to Stewart House who provide great inclusive services to children with disadvantaged backgrounds.

Premiers Reading Challenge

For the premiers reading challenge, students in year 2 to 6 will be expected to take one Premiers Reading Challenge book home with them and have a choice of one more book of choice. They will also borrow a book for the classroom which will also be a premiers reading challenge book. Students in years 2-6 will be shown how to maintain their own reading records via the student online portal.

P&C Working Bee

Thankyou so much to everyone who attended our working bee on Sunday 12th March: Peter Ross, Yolanda Beatson, the McLean family, the Freiinger / Walker family, the O'Neill family, and Trish Rowling.

It was a lovely autumn day and everyone put in a fantastic effort. The summer weeds were removed from the long bank in the carpark; mulch was applied to the bank; a huge stack of branches from a dead tree was moved into the skip; a new border bed of 150 plants and mulch was made around our new kitchen garden; and the long bed of cliveas was weeded. Amazingly, mulch mountain – the Ayers Rock-sized mound of tree mulch in the carpark – was finally defeated and levelled, freeing up some space for vehicles.

Our next official working bee is scheduled for National Tree Day on Sunday 30th July and you will receive reminders closer to the date.
