Assemblies

Our fortnightly assemblies start this week with the Goannas providing an item and the House Captains leading the proceedings. All parents are welcome to attend the assemblies at this point before the end of school. We will also take this opportunity to welcome the news Helping Hands coordinator Claire Donohue to the school. She will be taking over from Adam who we congratulate on his promotion to a bigger centre at Newington school.

Canteen

Canteen returns again this coming Friday 26 October. As usual, orders should be made before school in the Canteen.

RAW Art

RAW Art will be starting this week and currently we are collecting fees for the program. Please ensure that you send in your payment notes and either make the payment online or place the money in an envelope and place it in the notes box on the left side as you go into the school office. After this week the program will take a 2 week hiatus to allow kindergarten orientation to operate.

Courtyard Gate

A few weeks ago we advised that the gate into the courtyard would be replaced with one that is timed to open at drop off and pick up times. This gate is being fitted this Tuesday (weather permitting). Following its fitting and programming, the gate will allow entry to the school through this route in the morning and afternoon to families and their children. The gate can also be used as an exit route at any time and so it will have a high handle to allow adults to open and exit. We will advise as this route becomes available.

Swim Scheme

Regretfully the school has had to cancel the Swim Scheme for this year. We were originally booked for weeks 7 and 8 of term but due to a department mix up we had our booking moved to weeks 9 and 10. This would have clashed significantly with some end of year activities and would be restricted to 7 days rather than the 10 from the original program. This coupled with the fact that we only had 60% of the children we needed to make the program costs reasonable has meant that we have decided to cancel the program. We will try again next year.
