Week 4 News

Parent Teacher Interviews

The school runs parent teacher interviews twice a year. These occur at the end of term 1 and terms 3. We do this to provide a point of feedback between the school, students and parents in the middle of a semester of learning. As school reports are released at the end of the term, this allows a discussion to take place that is proactive for learning. We will also be trialling this term 3 way student-parent-teacher interviews for students in year 1 to 6.

This terms Parent Teacher Interviews will be on Tuesday 10 April. Appointments will soon be available to book via the parent portal between 2pm and 6:15pm. Please put this date in your diary or calendars.

Best Start Feedback

At the beginning of the year, all kindergarten students worked with Ms McSpadden or Garner to complete the Best Start Assessment. The results of this testing was very important for the teachers in planning learning for the first few weeks of term. This coming Friday parents of kindergarten students will be receiving the feedback reports. All students will continue to be tracked on the literacy and numeracy continua. Additional feedback reports will be provided to parents of kindergarten students at the Parent Teacher Interviews on 10 April and at the end of term's 2, 3 and 4.

P&C AGM and General Meeting

This Tuesday at 7pm in the school library the P&C will be holding its yearly AGM and initial general meeting. All existing parents and carers are welcome to come to the meeting and join the P&C. Come along and find out how you can help the school by helping the P&C. Helping Hands will once again be providing child care for parents with children of school age.

Band Ensemble

At last week's assembly, Dr Greg Shapely, Ms Caponas and several students demonstrated some of the instruments that are used in bands. In order to seed the development of a self sustaining band program at St Peters, the school is intending this term to establish an ensemble of student players Several parents have indicated an interest in this. An expression of interest note will be sent out this coming week to gauge interest formally.
