Harmony Day

This Wedenesday is Harmony Day at St Peters. Harmony Day is a great way for students to learn about the world with their friends and get involved in this year's theme: everyone belongs. We all know about the success stories with multiculturalism in Australia but it is never enough to know this, we have to celebrate this once in a while. However, harmony is not just about multiculturalism, it is about inclusivety, respect and belonging, irrespective of someones background, their culture or beliefs.

This Harmony day, the SRC has been working hard to organise with the 5 classes a modest celebration. On Wednesday, students will be invited to wear to school something that they feel identifies them. It may be something from a traditional costume or just the colours they like the most. In the past we have chosen orange as a colour, but it is not just about orange as all colours have equal worth. We are raising money on the day so please bring a $2 coin to donate or more if you see the worth. The monies will go to a good cause of the children's choosing.

In addition to this, each class will be creating a small display for the playground to celebrate the day. At the end of the day on Wednesday you may wish to have a look in the main playground (weather permitting) to see what each class has done.

P&C Book Fair

On Sunday 25th, the P&C will be holding a book fair in the school hall. The event is a fundraiser where a range of preloved books of a range of genre will be available for sale. A flier is included in the newsletter so please make an effort to come along and see what is available. If you can volunteer to help on the day, please contact Ms Kate Hafey on 0421 33 7170.

Ms Cho

Ms Cho has advised the school that she is unable to continue teaching at the school due to personal reasons. We thank her for her time here and wish her all the best in the future. Her last day at the school will be Thursday 29 March, before the Good Friday break. The school had sought the services of a new teacher and we are pleased to announce that Dr Natalie Cooper will be joining the staff at the beginning of term 2 in late April. A casual replacement teacher will cover for weeks 10 and 11.
