Hitting the Term Running

Student running in the Atheltics Carnival

We hope that you all had a great break from the routines of school time and that you all had a chance to enjoy the splendid though chilly in the evenings weather. Our staff all met today for their staff development day where they discussed some changes for Positive Behaviour for Learning and an initiative to relaunch it across the school.

We have some changes in staffing and structure with Dr Cooper now moving from her Learning Support and Dingoes role to becoming the Koala’s teacher for the remainder of the school year. The learning support role and Dingoes teacher role has now been filled with the school welcoming Miss Kelly Cusack to the school. Kelly has taught casually at the school and brings experience of stage 3 to the school. She will be working closely with Dr Lavitt and Dr Cooper to ensure the transition is smooth. Please say hello and welcome her to our lovely school when you see her. Additionally, Ms Ross is currently on leave so please say hello to Mrs Heather Finnan who has only just retired from her role as School Administrative Manager at Canterbury Girls High School. She kindly agreed to help us out and will be at the school for the next four weeks.

Canteen

There will be no canteen this coming Friday. This pause will allow the P&C to restock the canteen. Please ensure that your child comes to school on Friday with a lunch as no orders can be made at the canteen this Friday. The canteen will return on Friday August 3.

School Open Day

The school’s annual Open Day will be held on Wednesday 8 August. All carers, parents, and other family/friends are welcome to attend our assembly and later classroom visits. All prospective Kindergarten parents for 2019 are invited and will enjoy a school tour. The event culminates in a BBQ in our courtyard for lunch.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

The school has revised its behaviour expectations for Positive Behaviour for Learning. They have been simplified and will be taught in class. This week we start with play areas to be safe, respectful learners.
