Get your League On

This Wednesday all students will be participating in the ‘NRL Backyard League Program’ in conjunction with Federal Sporting Schools program. Sporting Schools is a $200 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities. The program equips students and teachers with the tools to play a non-contact version of rugby league in any setting while delivering important education, health and welfare messages that are linked to the new Health & Physical Education Australian Curriculum. This program will run on Wednesdays on a similar timetable to Got Game. This program is funded by Sporting Schools to cover all costs.

Please note that the Backyard League program will replace school sport on a Tuesday. Can all students please wear their house uniforms on Wednesday and Thursday and not on Tuesday

Find your TREASURE - Book Week

Starting this weekend the Children’s Book Council of Australia will be celebrating Book Week for 2018. The occasion is about celebrating children’s literature and this years them is, ‘Find your TREASURE.’ Every year we celebrate this Book week by having our student’s connect with their world of books. This year we will be celebrating in three ways:

  1. Students will be asked to bring in a book through the week which they treasure. This special book will be used to connect with and discuss. Your classroom teachers will discuss this with you.
  2. On Wednesday 22 August, our senior year 5 and 6 students will go down to the fabulous St Peters Community Pre School and join the children there as well as any students from the Playgroup to listen to some wonderful books read to them by our year 5 and 6 students.
  3. We will hold our 2018 Scholastic book fair which will be open for sales on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8:30am and 9am as well as 2:55pm to 3:30pm.
