School Education Week 2018

School Education Week

Education Week is a statewide, annual event, held during the first week of August, to celebrate NSW public education. The week communicates the achievements of public schools, their students and the value of public education. The theme for 2018 Education Week is: Today’s schools – creating tomorrow’s world. It celebrates how NSW public schools are equipping young people with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing, globalised world. This is not just about using technology, it is about providing students with the resilience, growth mindsets and ability to foster and develop relationships that will be necessary in the new world going forward.

At St Peters we celebrate this with the launch of our Peer Support program for 2018 which focusses this year on relationships. On Wednesday at Open Day we will be opening our doors to all of our past, present and future parents, friends and families to come and attend a special assembly, visit classrooms  or tour the school if a new parent and also to enjoy a sausage sizzle at lunch in our courtyard. We look forward to seeing you there on this special day.

Help Please - Cake Stall - Open Day

On St Peters Public School Open Day, Wednesday 8 August, the SRC will hold a cake stall to raise funds for the RSPCA. The RSPCA cares for animals who are sick and often uncared for. The RSPCA will be able to use the funds we raise at school in the additional cost of treatment and care of these animals to give them a second chance.

We are asking that, if you can, please bring cakes, biscuits or slices to school on Open Day for the SRC to sell and raise money for the RSPCA. These may be left in the staffroom in the morning.

Please can you also label items with ingredients used.

We are hoping to be able to give many animals a second chance here at St Peters by helping the RSPCA do their job.
