Bushfire Appeal

On Friday the 22nd of November, St Peters had a Mufti Day to raise money for The Salvation Army, a charity that is helping those affected by the bush fires. The SRC are very proud to announce that we have raised a total of $345.00 in donations! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported this very important cause and donated. We would also like to say a special thanks to the SRC for their awesome efforts in organising this fundraiser. Well done, St Peters!

Art Show

Our school led Art Show fundraiser is fast approaching this Thursday and a note went home on Friday to let you know all about what is available. This is a school initiative to raise enough money for an interactive board in our school library. It will be a fun evening. Please pop in and spend as much money as possible having fun, buying artworks and bidding in our silent auction knowing that you’ll be helping to help us improve you child(ren)’s school. All gates and the car park will be open.

Botany Bites- School Canteen

We’re excited to announce that following a successful year of Tuesday Canteen as supplied by Botany Bites, the P&C have struck an agreement for an additional day - Thursday’s. This additional day will run as a trial in 2020 and will continue provided that it is utilised and does not massively affect the demand on the established Tuesday. It is thus up to us all to utilise it on both days. The staff are excited and we know the kids will be happy to receive high quality food from a provider on an additional day.

The first day of Botany Bites in 2020 will be Thursday 31 January and orders will be made available through the usual Flexischools app. With Presentation Day happening on Tuesday 17 December, there will be no Botany Bites Canteen on this day. This week is thus the last week for school canteen in 2019.

Presentation Day

A reminder that our annual Presentation Day will be on Tuesday 17 December. This is a big celebration for the school year and involves all students at the school. We would love to see you there as it is our chance to say thank you for your support in 2019. We will start at 9:20am sharp to ensure that we get through all of our presentations. See you there.

School Reports

School Reports will bes sent home with your child on Friday afternoon in a sealed envelope and emailed to you. These reports provide a summary of learning in Semester 2 of the 2019 school year commensurate for the year of learning of your child. The reports attempt to provide you across all Key Learning Areas: a summary of the learning that has been taught; areas of learning strength; areas for learning development; and some ideas for how you could support this development at home. It is a continuation of the parent teacher interview conducted at the end of Term 3 and the Semester 1 school report. We do not hold parent teacher interviews at the end of the year but should you have any further questions about it, please email the school email to contact your child’s teacher.

Staff changes for 2020

At the P&C meeting, Mr Lavitt and Ms McIntosh announced that there would be few staff changes in 2020. Sadly Mrs Iriarte will be moving on. She is seeking some different challenges and will be next year teaching at Punchbowl Public School. Mrs Iriarte has been a much respected teacher of St Peters in 2016 and 2019, and a relieving Assistant Principal in 2018. We wish her all the very best next year. Ms Cusack, Dr Cooper, Ms Davies and Ms deGraft-Johnson will all be continuing on at the school and Ms Yoo will be joining us 5 days a week for 2020. The staff have already been planning for 2020 and are greatly looking forward to another fantastic year.

Fun Day and Darling Harbour Notes
