DON’T Forget to Order - New Canteen Solution

The P&C have engaged Botany Bites as our external supplier for quality food products for our new canteen solution. The first day is this TUESDAY 12 March. You can order by a super easy online ordering system - to cater for both students and staff. Flyers for Flexischools along with the menu were sent home last week as well as well as a how to get set up guide. Once again, please note that there will be no opportunity to buy items with cash. Order by 9am on Tuesday for items other than sushi. This needs to be ordered by midnight the night before. All of the orders will be brought to the school on a Tuesday in insulated Hot or Cold bags and taken directly to your child(ren)’s class.

Premiers Reading Challenge

Every year St Peters Students take part in the Premiers Reading Challenge. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.

The challenge opened last week on March 4th and will carry on until August 30 or 26 weeks. Students in years K - 2 are able to have books in the challenge read to them and thus all of their classroom teachers will be reading books from the challenge in class. The titles of these books will be added directly to the challenge. A total of 30 books need to be read for K-2. Students in year 3 to 6 have to read their own books and add them via the challenge website. They will be expected to borrow at least one PRC book every week from library and then during the 2 week autumn holiday period they will be allowed to borrow 3 books to help them complete the challenge.

Booklists for the challenge may be found at the link here and the rules of the challenge at another link here. Students who successfully complete the challenge will receive a certificate at the Presentation Day Assembly held at the end of the year.

Korean Teacher Changes

Sadly, Ms An who started providing Korean lessons for St Peters Public School students from the beginning of the year is unable to continue teaching with us. Very fortunately with the help of one of a wonderful partner public schools we have been able to find a replacement. Ms Yoo who is a teacher of the bilingual Korean program at Campsie is to teach two days a week at the school from this Thursday.  She brings considerable experience into the school and will be working hard to establish our Langauge  Other than English program for Korean at the school.
