Well Street - Lunchtime Yoga - Mindfulness

Earlier last week local company Well Street announced the times and dates of their lunchtime yoga classes at St Peters PS. Next term the first 4 week block of bookings are available for Monday’s 6 May to 27 May. The sessions will be open to all students and they will be collected from classrooms at 11am   and taken to the hall where the sessions will be held. We are partnering with Well Street to offer this opportunity in response to demand measured through an expression of interest survey provided earlier in the term. There will be another opportunity to book for the second block of 4 sessions that will be held between 10 June and 1 July. We invite you to book and support this great opportunity to support a local company and provide a valuable extracurricular opportunity.

Purple Day - Thank You!

Last Tuesday St Peters PS supported Purple Day to raise epilepsy awareness across the school community. The SRC did a fantastic job in organising the day with students wearing something purple and/or making a gold coin donation. Two of our student went the extra by donating some of their own money which was even more amazing. We were also very fortunate to have had one of our parents visit the classes to spread further epilepsy awareness. We are very proud to announce that the school was able to raise a total of $258.10 in donations- how incredible is that for a school with 128 students! A huge thank you to everyone who participated and showed their support as well as our parents who help find appropriate dress for their children.

Cross Country Carnival

On the last day of school (Friday 12 April) we are delighted to announce that we will be conducting our annual cross country carnival. It happens at the school and all students participate in the carnival with children aged 8 to 12 running in timed races that may gain them entry to the Zone PSSA carnival next term. Other students will take part in a fun run at the end of the carnival after they have taken part in some fun novelty events. The carnival takes part immediately at the start of school and we invite parents and family to attend and help out at the event. We need volunteers to help students stay on track along the way. It is customary for the P&C to provide a sausage sizzle lunch immediately after the carnivals conclusion.

Tomorrow there will be two notes distributed. The first will be a permission race for your child to run in the carnival as well as call for volunteer help and the second will be from the P&C for the sausage sizzle lunch.
