A Week of Updates and Reminders

Stuents in years 5 and 6 enjoying a lesson on organic batteries

Ice Blocks

As indicted by an email on Thursday, the school has now restored the option to have ice blocks on a Friday. To encourage a healthier approach to this and hopefully reduce the issues that caused the school to move it to the end of the day, only $1 ice blocks will be sold. Only one will be sold per child and no IOU’s will be taken. We ask that so that this treat may continue you do not provide your child with more than one, dollar coin on Friday. The school will monitor this going forward with the hope that this can continue.

Car Park Term 3 Onwards

As indicated last week the car park will have a security gate installed over the winter break. The school advised at the P&C meeting that until the additional parking options offered by the WestConnex modifications to Campbell Street, the gate and the associated disruption to the surrounding streets, the gate will be set to open automatically at times that will allow use of the car park to drop off and pick up children. It will not be possible to vary this time for intermittent days such as assemblies, but an intercom to the office will be available. The date has an egress loop that detects a car on exit allowing exiting the car park.

When the WestConnex New M5 project concludes, the car park will become staff only.

Athletics Carnival

A reminder that the Athletic Carnival has been moved to the backup date in week 10 - Thursday 4 July. There is the possibility of more rain this week and we need to undertake some repairs to the oval surface caused by cars moving on the grass after wet weather. All notes will be moved to the 4th and the sausage sizzle will be available on this day as well. We apologise if this has caused any problems for those organising days off.

NAIDOC Week Coming Up

A reminder that in week 10 we will be holding a special NAIDOC assembly at 2:20pm on Monday 1 July and we will be celebrating and taking a deeper dive into Aboriginal perspectives through our learning. We hope that you will join us at the assembly.
