Week of Updates

Ice Blocks

Following concerns from teachers about focus and learning on a Friday after lunch, the purchase of ice blocks has been questioned. Discussion has thus been held with the P&C to look at an alternative time when ice blocks could be purchased. The school does not want to completely remove this treat but feels that it would be better placed at the end of the day on Friday.

From this Friday 21 June, ice blocks will be made available for sale after 3pm from the courtyard  and as usual will be fifty cents or a dollar. They will not be available at lunch time.

Car Park Gate Update

The vendor contracted to install the security gate to the school car park will be doing the work through the winter holiday period. This means that at the beginning of term 3 the car park will have a security gate. The school is still formulating a plan for this and encourages parent to come to the P&C meeting on Wednesday at 7pm in the school library to discuss it.

Athletics Carnival

Notes for the Athletics Carnival and associated sausage sizzle lunch went out on Friday. Please ensure that these are completed and returned to the school this week so that planning is expedited.

Thank You! SRC Cake Stall

This week the SRC held a cake stall at the school. The reason we did this was to raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. We are interested in the hospital because they help sick children.

We are also working at St Peters to help the hospital further by working with them to produce an art exhibition later this year. This project is called INSPIRE! Today we raised $260.20 from the cake stall! Thank you to our school community for donations of cakes, biscuits and slices.

Also a big thank you to the people who donated money. And finally, thank you to the students for buying these wonderful treats! Everyone’s generosity was amazing!
