Get your Tracky Dacks on!

PSSA students playing at Tempe Reserve

Tracky Dack Day is on this Wednesday!

Our SRC are holding a fundraiser for TLC for Kids this Wednesday 28 August. TLC for Kids is a children’s charity providing help in times of crisis for sick children and their families.

TLC for Kids support sick kids in hospital getting out of their PJ’s and into tracksuit pants, to transform their mood. At St Peters we are putting our own stamp on it by saying ‘Wear tracky dacks or casual trousers/pants’ on this day. For a gold coin donation on Tracky Dack Day students may wear track suit pants OR casual trousers if they prefer.  The SRC are organising class activities to raise awareness and understanding of children and families dealing with illness

INSPIRE Art! 2019

Earlier this year St Peters Public School made a successful submission to the Sydney Children’s Hospital to exhibit in the Hospital’s Spring Art Exhibition: INSPIRE! 2019. You will have seem the invitation in the previous few editions of the newsletter.

The Exhibition aims to support and inspire patients, students and staff at the hospital... an extremely good cause.

Students have been creating artworks for INSPIRE! Connected to the theme of ‘biomimicry’. They have also been learning about how their artwork can help to lift the spirits of patients and their families, who may be going through difficult times.

The INSPIRE! Exhibition opens on Thursday 19 September at the Hospital and all families will receive an invitation with details about the event this week. St Peters Public School students belonging to the ensemble and recorder group(s) as well as the choir, with parental permission, will be performing musical items on the evening: more details to follow soon.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase artworks with funds going to support the Hospital.

The opening event on 19 September (5:30-7:30pm) gives St Peters the opportunity to celebrate our collaboration with the Hospital, showcase our school and help students to see and hear how their artwork is benefiting others. We will be shortly sending out invitations to everyone to attend the event which will be a fantastic opportunity for St Peters students and their families. The school is looking at organising a bus for which more information will be released shortly. It certainly is a big year of art for St Peters Public School.
