Open Day and Education Week
This week is Education Week at St Peters Public School. The theme for Education week is Every Student Every Voice and we will be celebrating this through next week with a focus in classrooms of speaking and listening and for all of our families through Open Day. Parents, relatives and friends are all invited to our Open Day Assembly followed by a visit to classrooms to see the children learning. Additionally, our new families for next year are all welcome and while the classroom visits are on, there will be a P&C led tour of the school complete with stickers culminating in a book being read in the library. Everyone can then enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch in the main courtyard or hall should the weather be inclement. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at our open day.
Mid Semester Parent Teacher Interviews
Bookings are now available via the Parent Portal for parent teacher interviews for the mid semester 2019. These interviews offer an opportunity to discuss progress for your child(ren)s learning through the first weeks of Semester 2 as well as reflect on areas for development in the school report. Please remember that the address for the Parent Portal is now:
https://stpetersps.sentral.com.au/portal2/
This changed as we now host our Sentral server in highly secure Microsoft Azure storage rather than on school premises.
2044 Band Fundraiser
While we now have a band ensemble led by Dr Shapley, we also still have the opportunity for students at St Peters to take part in the 2044 training and stage bands that rehearse at Tempe Public School. This Wednesday there is a fundraising performance evening hosted by Tempe Public School. Starting at 6:30pm, this is an ideal opportunity to enjoy some great music, find out more about the band and how to join as well as raise money for a good cause.
Swim Scheme
Swim Scheme will go ahead this week with just over 20 students. They will leave in the morning about 9:55am and then return to school at 12:15pm. They will eat until 12:30pm before returning to class.
Peer Support
As indicated last week, Peer Support will start this week and will be held at 1pm every Tuesday. The year 4, 5 and 6 students were all trained last week and are ready to go.
