Capital Visits

Students in the playground at recess

Canberra 2019

This Thursday and Friday Ms Cusack, Mr Lavitt and the Dingoes will be going on their annual overnight excursion, this year to Canberra. The overnight excursion provides students with an opportunity to reinforce the learning they are doing in History this semester on Federation and government. It will also allow some really good hands on Science learning as they visit Questacon and visit the CSIRO’s Black Mountain Discovery Centre. This on top of visits to the Australian Parliament House and the Australian Election Centre where they will have a chance to see for themselves where our Federal Government sits and where bills are made, discussed and passed. They will also visit the Australia War Memorial.

They will be leaving very early on Thursday morning so that they can get to Canberra early and maximise their time in the National Capital. They will return on Friday evening after staying overnight in a Canberra hotel. We would like to thank Ms Cusackj and Mr Lavitt for organising this and being teachers on duty all of the time.

Premiers Reading Challenge

The Premiers Reading Challenge finished last Friday and teachers are now in the process of uploading records for K-2 students and validating records for 3-6 students. The certificates from completing the challenge will be presented to students at the Presentation Day which will be held on Tuesday 17 December.

Tracky Dack Thank You!

This week the SRC held Tracky Dack Day and raised $187.15 to support TLC for Kids. Tracky Dack Day aims to get sick children in hospital out of their pj’s and into track suits to lift their mood. A big thank you to parents, carers and the school community for your support, financial and otherwise.  Well done to the SRC for their hard work with making class activities for the day, decorating the playground and spreading the word about this worthy cause.
