Welcome Back to Term 4

Welcome to Term 4

Welcome back to term 4. As reminded at the end of last term there is a Monday start to Term 4 as school development days are held at the end of the term rather than the start. We trust that you had a great break and had a chance to get away from the somewhat damp weather in Sydney, and much of NSW. The teaching staff are all raring to go again for another term of learning. We have a busy term ahead. We’ll endeavour to keep you posted on all events happening this term through the newsletters, Facebook, emails and letters home.

Canteen

As with the start of all school terms, there will be no canteen in the first week. Canteen will commence again in week 2 on 26 October. Please ensure you pack a lunch for your child on 19 October.

RAW Art

RAW Art has become a regular incursion activity for our students for many years and this year will be no different. With specialist art teachers providing structured activities, RAW Art is an opportunity for students to extend their understanding of using materials in the creation of art pieces. The artworks created are kept for a display after the last session where parents can come and see all the art together before taking them home. There is a charge for RAW Art and a note will be sent home tomorrow.

Chess

Chess will be continuing this term for all students in kindergarten to year 6. If you have previously enrolled in the chess club, you will have to re-enrol for term 4. The form for this is attached to this newsletter. Families who wish their children to join chess can do so by filling out the form. Please let the school know you have done this so that we don’t miss you on Wednesday when chess starts.

Got Game and Other Sport

Got Game and dance was a real hit last term and this term we’ll be upping the energy levels even more with the beginning of gymnastics. Hilary is the teacher for term 4 and gymnastics and all lessons will be taught in the hall. Class sport will continue to be taught on a Tuesday and so please keep an eye out for any changes to that in the week ahead in learning (returning next week). Friday PSSA has finished for the year and at this stage there is no gala days planned. We are, however, booked for swim scheme which will start towards the end of the term. More details will emerge through the term.
