Students competing in zone cross country carnival

Well Street Yoga

Well Street Yoga’s first block of 4 weeks of Yoga is about to come to an end. It has been very successful with students enjoying the opportunity to express themselves and to relax in different ways. It has bee particularly enjoyable to have seen students meditating and focusing so hard on their breathing while they do it. They will start their second block on Monday 3 June and booking can be made online at:

Uniforms

You wouldn’t know that we are well into the autumn season with the amazing weather we have been experiencing recently. This is, however, a time where the cooler mornings and then hotter days lead to students shedding jackets. This can often lead to items being left and forgotten. If they have a name, they can be returned to students. If not, they often stay lost and can be virtually impossible to identify even if found. Please ensure that all school uniform items are adequately labelled with the owners name.

Secondly, while we understand that the change in season can result in parent being caught unawares in terms of jackets, we would like to remind you that school uniform codes apply. The office sells Jackets at $30 and for colder weather, dry and cosy jackets which are lined for $35. By selling direct to  parents and purchasing from wholesalers we keep the cost of uniforms down. In fact these items are often cheaper than clothes from a standard retailer. These jackets will often last some time and given that they are worn so often we believe they present good value. If your child is coming to school in a jacket that is not school uniform, please kindly purchase one to meet our uniform code.

School Reports Changes

As we progress into week 5 of term 2, the end of the week marks the mid point for the term and the three quarters mark for the semester. Teachers are now starting the process of preparing reports which will be sent home and made available via the parent portal at the end of the term.

This semester, in response to suggestions made via the Tell Them From Me survey late last year we have made some changes. Our comment fields for English, Mathematics and collectively for the other Key Learning Areas (KLAs) have now been broken up into a comment saying what the child has been doing, bullet lists of: areas of achievement and areas of strength, and a comment expressing how they could be helped to improve. We will survey parents afterwards to gain feedback on the changes.
